Homestay Program

Our Homestay Program is designed for students to become fluent in English while enjoying a full Waldorf curriculum and preparing for high school and higher education. Students in grades 5–8 are hosted by families and friends of our school who welcome them into their home as new members of their extended families. Well-cared for, safe, and ‘at home,’ middle school students enjoy the perfect setting to become fluent in English and succeed in school and in life.
Homestay families are carefully selected and closely connected to our school community. Our 2018–19 homestay fee includes housing, all meals, supervision by the host family while the student is not in school, transportation to and from school, and typical activities.

Waldorf education offers children the opportunity to fully explore the world around them. In our middle school we nurture imagination and critical thinking, and cultivate a love of learning. Our high school curriculum empowers students to become compassionate human beings who approach the world with confidence, integrity and self-discipline.

We are eager to offer all of our students a place where East and West can truly meet in a mutually beneficial way. To that effect, we have envisioned a high school program (grades 9-12) that departs from the traditionally American-European cultural stream to encompass a broader cultural basis that includes the East.
