The Core-Elation Stage Project is a professional stage initiative that began work in September 2012 under the auspices of Eurythmy Spring Valley. The project is comprised of seven eurythmists from America and Europe: four Waldorf graduates, three former Waldorf teachers, and one theraputic eurythmist. To culminate our year-long research into the design and creation of contemporary eurythmy performance, we are pleased to offer three programs co-created alongside directors Dorothea Mier, Barbara Schneider Serio, Annelies Davidson, and Natasha Moss.
Finding Footholds Within, our complete evening program, explores the sense of spiritual drought that is commonplace in the modern world. In an age of materialism, how can one go beyond the feeling of isolation into the flow between worlds that is the wellspring of the spirit? The Native American Story, 'The Legend of the Bluebonnet' is at the heart of the program, revealing the spiritual abundance found in sacrificial love. Modern works of poetry by David Whyte, T.S. Eliot, Denise Levertov, and Louise Gluck and music by composers Bartok, Rachmaninoff, and Debussy thread through the mood of inquiry and speak contemplatively, fervently, and ecstatically into the theme. Light and humorous pieces by author Shel Silverstein and composers Kabalevsky and Burghard conclude the program.
Core-Elation will be at Pine Hill Waldorf School on Saturday, May 25 at 7 pm. Learn more about Eurythmy Spring Valley by visiting their website.
