Gail Agans (2003 to present) – Bookkeeper

Gail is from Newton, Massachusetts and graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Civil Engineering. She is a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club’s 4,000 Footer Club. Gail’s daughters are graduates of Pine Hill

Susanne Buchanan (2012 to present) - Receptionist

Susanne joined the administration staff at PH in fall 2012. She was born in Goeppingen, Germany and educated at the Vocational Technical Trade School Goeppingen where she received a Diploma in general Technology and completed her apprenticeship with Diploma, as an Industial Technician/skilled Tradesman. She studied Mechanical Engineering at the technical College, Esslingen Germany for a year prior to moving to the US. Susanne settled in the US after marrying her husband, a New Hampshire resident, and connected to Pine Hill first as a parent. Susanne has worked at manufacturing companies in Germany and the US including Hitchiner Mfg in Milford and Nimcor in Nashua. She also worked in customer service at the former Laconia Bank in Bedford. Susanne's youngest son currently attends Pine Hill, and her older son, who attended PH Grade1-8, and moved on to High Mowing. 

 

Deana Darby (2011 to present) - Development Assistant

Deana grew up in St. Louis Missouri. She studied Fine Arts and Art History at Drew University. After college, she worked as a Director of a Fine Art Gallery in NYC. Upon receiving an unexpected, small inheritance, Deana left her profession in NYC and spent 2 years traveling extensively in Asia studying the healing arts. Upon returning from her travels she moved to California with her husband Bruce. After over 20 years in private practice in the healing arts as a Shiatsu Massage Therapist, Classical Homeopath and more recently as Home Funeral Consultant and Midwife for the Dying, Deana is turning her attention to her other passion – Waldorf Education and building community. In her spare time, Deana helped to start a public Waldorf Method Charter School in Napa California, and served as the Parent Council Chair for two years. Her husband, Bruce is a classroom teacher at Pine Hill. She has two daughters, one at Pine Hill and one at High Mowing.

Bob Drew (1999 to present) – Facilities Manager

Bob grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and moved to New Hampshire after receiving his honorable discharge from the United States Navy. He is a graduate of printing and graphics technical schools. Bob has been a musician for over 40 years and has worked as a carpenter for over 30 years.

Barbara Johnson (2006 to present) – Business Manager

Barbara was the Finance Manager at the Hungry Hollow Co-op in Spring Valley, New York, for 16 years and lived in the Threefold Community for almost 25 years. She has a B.A. in Speech Communication from Oakland University in Michigan and studied Performing Arts Management at Brooklyn College. She is currently enrolled in the Applied Arts Program at Sunbridge College. Her three children are all Waldorf school graduates.

Sarah Lind (2011 to present) - Enrollment and Marketing Director

Sarah was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and earned a B.A. in English and German literature with a TESOL certificate at a small Mennonite liberal arts college in Indiana. Writing and editing became her favorite academic pursuits as she wrote for the school newspaper and worked for her college's public relations department. She encountered Waldorf education during an academic year abroad at the University of Marburg, Germany. After graduation, she taught English to adults and children from other countries and then taught German to high school students. Sarah recently completed an M. Ed. with state and Waldorf certification from Antioch University after an internship in Pine Hill's 4th grade. She lives on a local biodynamic farm with her farming husband, Matthew, and their two children, who both attend Pine Hill.

Karen Nadeau (1983 to present) – Housekeeping

Karen is a graduate of Keene State College with a degree in General Studies, with concentrations in Psychology and English. She is a Reiki energy healing practitioner, who offers services to those who are healing from chronic and serious illness, and as a hospice volunteer. An environmental and animal rights activist, she enjoys volunteering at a local animal rescue league. In her spare time, Karen also enjoys hiking and mountain climbing, long bicycle rides, growing flowers, snowshoeing, practicing yoga, and bird and wildlife watching. She lives in the beautiful and peaceful forest of Greenfield with her animals.

Pine Hill Child Care Center

Peggy Waterhouse (1997 to present) - Center Director

Peggy grew up in California and holds an M.A. from California State University, Chico. Once a professional singer, she also worked for many years with parents and young children in several organizations in Germany. She received her M.Ed. in Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Education at Antioch University New England. Peggy was a kindergarten teacher at Pine Hill for many years before becoming the PHCCC Director in 2006. Peggy’s son and daughter are both graduates of Pine Hill.
